simple pleasures on this wonderful Sunday....

Today was a beautiful Sabbath Fast Sunday and the Spirit was very strong. I felt very honored when the Bishopric asked from the pulpit to pray for "Sister Johnson who is going thru treatments." And each of the Sacrament prayers held my name.... what an honor!!! I made it through Sacrament meeting, but just barely due to exhaustion and back pain today. I came home in hopes of catching Relief Society after a quick nap....but alas, I slept too long. But I had a great Sabbath after my nap.
And that brings us to the fact that many people are wondering how I am doing lately..... I guess I am doing better than last year, but not up to "normal." I have to take at least one nap a day, and probably one antinausea pill per day. I feel a bit like a baby, who can be awake and energized for a couple of hours, and then I crash. I am also struggling a lot with "hand, foot syndrome" which is a side effect from the Xeloda chemo pills that I am on. What this means basically is that my hands and especially feet hurt and are tender all day long. I am getting "used" to it, but it isn't my favorite side effect.
So, enough about my life.... Let me tell you about some of the "simple things" going on around our house that make life wonderful....

Cassidy taught "tea party" lessons today. Sarah tried take her lessons, but their stubborn personalities clashed, so she gave up. Will, on the other hand, was willing to go to any party where there was Sprite and marshmallows!
Oh, he is such a great student!
This is a funny pictures because I am pretty sure he just wants the Sprite in the cup, not the accompanying lessons.
Oh, look, he even has his "pinky up"! He is sure learning manners!
And then we were onto making peanut butter kiss cookies
Will tried to make his cookies look just like Mommy's.....hummmmm
Lund just popped over to eat some cookie dough and then run away...
And Cassidy made peanut butter cookies in her ice skates.....SERIOUSLY!
Some of my greatest times with my kids are spent baking together in the kitchen!! I sure love my kids and I also love baking... and eating the end results!!!!

I love baking with my family too. Karver loves helping, kason loves watching, and Jeremy loves eating the unfinished and finshed products, and i love shooing him out of the kitchen so we will actually have some to eat later! :)

What a lovely Sabbath. Hope some of those cookies are left but it is okay if they are not. We are not coming just for the food. We are 40 miles away.

What is Cassidy doing with ice skates in AZ?!?! Too funny. I am glad you are doing better than last year, but it is a bummer about your feet and hands! I'm glad you are in tune with your body enough to take naps when you need them...naps are healing things, I'm sure of it!

Christa! Small world. Your Sis Becky is married to my cousin Jeff. I saw a picture of you on her blog then saw your post when Raelynn was born. What a great family you have.
