Afro-Be-Gone... otherwise known as Alicia performing Keratin treatment on my hair...

I know I said that I would post more Spring Break pictures... and I will......... BUT..... I HAVE TO SHOW YOU THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been debating for a while having Alicia perform some magic on my hair. She has been telling me about this amazing Keratin treatment that she does at her Salon (LaCia's Salon). I have been intreagued that someone who has an over abbundance of curls like myself, can leave the salon with competely stick straight hair, as if a wig was placed on my head.
Let's bring on the magic.......
Here is a picture of "normal" Cassidy hair on a normal day last week....
And here are the beginnings of Alicia working on her hair. And it is quite a process (3 1/2 hours), but the outcome blows my mind.......

Can that even be the same head of hair that walked into the salon??/!!!
Alicia even gave her some long layers to frame her face and it looks great.

AND NOW YOU MUST PREPARE YOUR MIND..... THE NEXT PICTURE IS NOT FOR THE WEAK MINDED...............
LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO MY FRIEND NAPOLEON DYNAMITE!
                                             BACK VIEW OF FRO.....
AND THREE AND A HALF HOURS LATER AND MANY ALICIA TRICKS LATER, THIS IS THE RESULT!!!!  HAVE I MENTIONED THAT SHE HAS MAGICAL QUALITIES?
And here is the end result as we gathered an hour later at my parents house for Family Home Evening.
At the end of the day we are all the same, minus a few fro's....

Sometimes life is best percieved through the eyes of a child....

We had a lot of fun over the Spreak Break weeks, but some of the best memories were made just by being together.... hanging out and enjoying each other's company...
                                                             my boys!!!!!
...........just hanging out! (And the one standing up is my Baby!! Can it be?!!!)
And I also took Will and his cousin Brody to the library near us, and I think they had more fun there than anything else...
Will tried to teach his cousin how to "curl his tongue"....
Brody did this with his tongue and said, "Am I doing it?".....
                                                Almost Brody, Almost!
Look how excited they are over reading!! I love it when kids discover the magic of books!!!

And Brody is the cutest 3-year-old ever!! I LOVE his dimples!!!!
And here they are looking out the window at the library at the Reparian Preserve behind the library....
Cheap Thrills!! Aren't kids great?!!! And libraries are simply magical!!!

Spring Break 2011 Part 1

O.K., so it has been a long 2 1/2 weeks of the kids being on Spring Break, so I am going to try to catch up on all the fun/exhausting memories that were made.
I will start with an event that wasn't my favorite.... A HUGE shot!!!

Fun times huh? They are changing my chemo regiment and it requires me to have a shot like this once a month and a pill everyday. Wahooo!!!

Then, last Saturday, the kids and I tried to have some fun water times. A lot of things were open for Spring Break, so on Friday we hit Sunsplash/Golfland, which was INSANELY crowded. But the next day, we hit the jackpot!! At Rhodes Jr. High, they have a surfing simulator called, Flowrider, that was a riot!!!
The lifeguards tried to convince Sarah that is wasn't scary at all... But she wasn't too convinced. She told me that she would do it if I did...
Here is the lifeguard once again trying to convince Sarah.
Lund wasn't scared at all and took right to it.
And after only one time on the boogey board, he was ready for the surf board.
oh no..... falling is never fun!
Cassidy LOVED the boogey board and stayed on it for most of the afternoon.
 Sarah tried again....
 ..........but was too nervous still...

Lund gets back up on the board...
 ......and experiences some more wipe-outs!
Cassidy decided to try the board too....
 ..............but she looks pretty nervous....
                 ......and do you blame her?!!
.....she decided to stick with the boogey boards and looking cool!
                                    ............which she mastered famously!
....And Lund just kept on practicing and got the board down.
...........and had a few more epic wipe-outs!
.......but those awesome lifeguards didn't want to give up on Sarah....
...and so with the help of another lifeguard on a board too... she finally did it!!!!
.............and even Mom got up on the board!
.........and Sarah mastered some more stuff...
....like getting up on her knees on the board. Wow!!
And then later that night, we decided to watch the Super Moon outside and have a campfire in our backyard. Will insisted that he needed goggles to see the Super moon.
.....and that he desperately needed the goggles to protect him while cooking marshmallows over the fire!
A small view of the Super Moon!! (Put your goggles on if you need to)
Oh, and I forgot to tell you that right after the picture with me on the surfboard, I had a terrifically awesome wipe-out and my shoulder came out of socket. Wahoooooo!!! Luckily, with the help of my brother-in-law chiropractor, it is feeling much better now and I don't have to wear the sling anymore.
And then last Sunday we had a special visitor pop over.... Grandpa with some treats!!! We ate rice Krispy treats and watched our favorite new show together---"Secret Millionaire".

Please wait patiently for installment #2 of Spring Break 2001...
