Tis' My Season for Children...

See this tree, this is NOT my tree!!!! I have FINALLY decided that this is NOT my season for fancy trees. Nah, this is not my season for fancy ANYTHING, really! It is my season for children.
Example: this week I was at Costco and I saw a beautiful bag of of matching, amazingly beautiful Christmas tree ornaments, and so I went for it! I bought the bag of ornaments and the beautiful wrapping paper that matched it PERFECTLY and even a huge spool of ribbon to tie around each present that matched it all. Oh, what a beautiful tree I pictured in my mind! I pictured beautifully wrapped presents sitting under the tree with my ornaments and strands of white lights topping it all off!! oh, it was such a beautiful tree!
Then I got home.

We put up the tree that night and I enjoyed IMMENSELY watching the children getting sooooo excited... and what were they excited about??? The ornaments they had made in years past! Yes, you know which ones I am talking about! The ones they make in school, the ones they make with mom and dad...the ones that look..well, like a kid made them! soooooooooooooooooooooo..... I returned the beautiful wrapping paper, the amazing ornaments and even the ribbons to tie it all together (he he... I made a punny!!)
And wahlaaaa... you have our tree!
......that has ornaments made out of Army men. (Now this one is a wonderful story: We have adopted some Veterans for Christmas this year and this represents an Army Veteran that we are helping bring Christmas joy to this year).
Back on topic: My tree also has post it notes hidden in it that Sarah drew.
And there are even children hiding around our tree... well, maybe it is their pants that are hidden!! humm....  But I am soooo glad that this is my season............my season of children! Oh, how I love this season!
Now, I want to show you some of my favorite things about the season... This is the advent calendar I made the other day. the same night I went to the ER.... is there a correlation there somehow...hum. It is just a small muffin pan, so there is a little candy bar behind each number... fun stuff!!
And my hubby is soooo AWESOME!! I told him that I have always wanted lights on my staircase and he produced!!! I love the lights on at night in the dark house....beautiful!
Here is another great thing! I put up my Christmas village on my coffee table and today Will decided that he needed to put sticks surrounding it (probably to keep the dinosaur from getting loose).
....And everyone needs a dinosaur and a monster truck in their Christmas village!!
I love the piano at this time of the year, with my LDS Christmas songbook sitting there. Morgan will sit down and pick out Christmas songs each night!!! Love it!!
........And I love that my kids are constantly at the piano practicing their recital pieces for their Christmas Recital coming up this Monday night. They are really nervous, but I am sooooooo excited!!!!
                                      I love Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The picture of Will and your comment about the fence was too funny when you pointed out the dinosaur, LOL.

Perfect Christmas attitude. Your children are blessed to have a tree with perfect with classic decorations. I too am a fan of the lights on the stairs. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
