In the digital world, my theory is: “if you take a zillion pictures, one of them has to be good!”

DSC_0072

I took this last year when I went to “Summer of Love” along with all the other Johnson women. I snuck in through marriage, and I am really thankful that I did. I just loved watching nature at Aunt Pats houses in Abique, New Mexico. Being just an amateur photographer, I was really proud of myself after lots of quiet waiting…..this is what I came up with!

Family Pictures in March, 2013

MK3_6968

I am trying to get back on track with my blog and so today’s post is about our rushed family picture session  before I lost my hair from brain radiation. The whole fiasco became just that, a fiasco! It happened to be freezing that day with lots of wind where we had them taken. ( hair blowing, etc.) And the photographer was really sweet, but halfway through our session the camera fell on the cement, hence we have no individual pictures of Will. But, when it was all said and done he did get some great shots. And I think he felt too bad to charge us!! Poor guy, he really was a great photographer!

My oldest is getting too old!! Here is Cassidy at 14-years-old

MK3_6796

And Lund is in the phase where, “it isn’t cool to smile”. 13-years-old

He caught a great picture of the boys discussing something in between  pictures. I love this picture because Will looks up to Lund so much, and Lund is so much older.

Here are all my boys---aren’t they cute!

Mermaids are real, I have seen them with my own two eyes…..

DSCF0002

Sarah had a goal this summer. Not your ordinary “save 10 dollars and buy a barbie” kind of goal. Nope, not Sarah! Sarah wanted to become a mermaid! Not wanting to burst her bubble, I let her set up her plan and supported her. She looked up on pinterest and the internet and lo and behold, you can turn yourself into a mermaid! But it was really expensive! Then Sarah found a mermaid tail that someone had made all by their self and she was unstoppable!

DSCF0008

She went to JoAnn’s online and calculated how much it would cost for the special kind of material she would have to buy. And she saved….

DSCF0007

…She even took back her brand new rollerblades that she got for her birthday and used the money to buy the monofin she needed.

DSCF0010

The end result blew me away! SHE BECAME…

DSCF0012

A MERMAID!!!!! Never doubt a 10-year-old with a dream!

DSCF0024

Her friend also made one and they had many great times pretending away! Love you Sarah!

Extra summer pictures

DSCF0079

Here are my 4 beautiful kids at Knott’s Berry Farms in June. I didn’t take many pictures because I was sick the whole trip and even ended up in the ER. After getting a couple of bags of rehydration, it was much better. I’d have to say that the California hospitals are WAY different than ours in Arizona. I will stick over here in the clean hospitals!  Anyway, I thought this trip was still a success because  the kids had the best time ever! Cassidy and Lund were rollercoaster-riding fools! Sarah and Will were also fearless and that always makes me nervous.

Christa secret: I don’t do rollercoasters! There was a time when rollercoasters put an excitement in my step and I would run to them and enjoy their thrill. Now I’d rather take pictures as the children scream with excitement.

Hippo Bird Day to me!

Guess what last Monday was?! National Heart Day?!DSC_0555

DSC_0549

Nope, it was my 35th birthday!! That’s right ladies and gentlemen, I am officially half way to 70!!! And I couldn’t be happier!

DSC_0572

We have had so many nerf wars with the nerf guns and bullets my kids got me!!!

DSC_0553

Cassidy even wrote a song about me and sang it to me while playing her guitar! It was soooo beautiful, but don’t even ask her to sing it again because she won’t. We recorded it and now she will never sing it again, that is just her rule?

DSC_0557

We went to the movie “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 2” and we all gave it 5 thumbs up. wait, that isn’t right…. we give it 20 fingers….hummm. Guess you will just have to go see it for yourselves, you won’t be disappointed!

DSC_0571

Now you get to see some random pictures…
